NEWS

  • 11/30/00.  David O'Neal reported that he has completed the first draft of the screenplay adaptation for his first novel, What Goes Around.  He was excited that he had made a dynamite story even more powerful.  He anticipates several rewrites in the spring.  Beyond that we'll keep you posted.

  • 10/20/00.  Our newest title, Fool Me Twice, volume 4 of the Doug Carlson series, was released in the fall. It continues the thrilling adventures of Doug Carlson with a novel of betrayal, denial and renewal. Today's Librarian said, "...a fast-moving thriller [with] a good classic crime twist...a winner for a spot on any library shelf."

  • 02/29/00.  This morning David O'Neal made a guest appearance on "The Mike Siegel Show" at AM/FM-Radio KIRO in Seattle.  The hour-long discussion moved quickly and touched such diverse subjects as violence in America, O'Neal's Vietnam War experience and how that affected his novels and their characters, plus the growing interest for films to be made from his novels.

  • 01/21/00.  Reported in Daily Variety: Producer Ralph Riskin has acquired the film rights to David O'Neal's "The Dying Game" trilogy from Pacific Coast Press in a low-six-figure deal.  Nabbed are suspense-thrillers "What Goes Around", "The Pact With Bruno" and "Choosing To Kill".  Riskin plans to film the three stories under his Rebecca Inc. banner.  To view the actual story (links to O'Neal's web page), click here (NOTE: These are large files and on slower computers they may take a couple of minutes to download.)

  • 01/10/00.  Ralph Riskin, best known for producing the cult classic TV series, The Dukes of Hazard, has acquired the film rights to David O'Neal's The Dying Game trilogy from Pacific Coast Press.  The three O'Neal novels Riskin acquired in the low six-figure deal were What Goes Around, The Pact With Bruno and the recently released Choosing to Kill.  All three of the suspense-thrillers revolve around O'Neal's fictional character Doug Carlson.  Riskin plans to film the three stories under his Rebecca, Inc. banner with the initial film What Goes Around to launch the trilogy.

  • Here's what others say about this series: "...one of the most enjoyable paperbacks to be published in some time.", Darrell Bain, "...an excellent read...tight without wasting words.", Ciara Luvstar, "...a serious novel...like that of Hemingway, [JD] MacDonald and most recently of Robert Ludlum; it is fast-paced, tough and casual...after reading the first page, you’ve committed yourself to a roller-coaster ride that doesn’t stop until the book is finished.", Jeremy Brown, "...I could not put it down...well-written, suspenseful...fast paced thriller...", Julius Brandstatter
